AI FOR AUTHORS

It will be some months before AI can handle the text of a whole book but it is already useful to improve marketing materials. As an example, I set out below an AI improved blurb of my book The Girl Who Disappeared and below that the original which I submitted for it to review.

THE GIRL WHO DISAPPEARED is a fact-based 20th century historical romance, “A Tale of Love and Survival”. In the tumultuous era of the 1930s and the chaos of World War II, a young woman named Emily finds herself in a whirlwind romance. Despite her father’s disapproval, she falls head over heels for Walter, a man whose charm is only matched by his resolve, and they elope. Her actions see her struggle to survive the devastation brought about by the war, as she and her four-year-old son are thrown into the midst of danger and death.

When Walter enlists, Emily and her young son are evacuated to a rustic cottage in the farming community near Hebden Bridge. The once charming Walter transforms into a stern army officer, leaving Emily longing for the man she fell in love with. Can their love withstand the test of time and war?

The Girl Who Disappeared is a moving love story about one woman’s enduring resilience, a story full of quiet humour and surprising twists and turns.

Critics have hailed The Girl Who Disappeared as a “brilliantly written, very moving, and emotional story.” The characters are praised for their depth and realism, earning the book 5-star ratings from both Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews and Readers Favorite.
